Trek World Racing Expands Downhill Roster, Now Racing Junior World Cup

Trek World Racing is excited to announce that for 2014 it will be expanding to 5 Downhill riders being led by World Cup race winner Brook MacDonald (NZL) and his compatriot George Brannigan. Also returning are riders who both hit the top 10 in World Racing for the first time this past season, Neko Mulally (USA) back for his 5th season with the team, and Greg Williamson (SCO) whose promising season was unfortunately cut short by injury at the World Championships. Joining these 4 talented elite men come January will be emerging phenom Laurie Greenland from Bristol in the UK, who’ll be contesting the Junior World Cup in both 2014 and 2015. All riders will be aboard the Trek Session 9.9.

Episode 0.5 of STORIES, by Trek World Racing, Released Today

This Episode of STORIES by Trek World Racing features Neko Mulally and George Brannigan as they race the final two rounds of the UCI World Cup, in Norway and Austria. Both riders have been showing steady progression and improvement all season. Both Neko and George qualify inside the top 10 and put together some great runs to close out the season. Slippery conditions in Norway catch George out as he crashes on a fast run. And will we ever see the sandpaper grip in production??

George and Neko Both Finish Top 15 at World Cup Finals

Perfect sunny conditions prevailed for the final World Cup race of the 2013 season here in Leogang, Austria, where Trek World Racing’s remaining uninjured downhill riders Neko Mulally (USA) and George Brannigan (NZL) had solid qualifiers Saturday. Neko had a career best qualifier coming in 7th place, and George had top 10 splits on his way down the hill, but 400m from the line had a crash which cost him time. However both riders went into the finals today knowing they had top 10 pace.

Neko Mulally Takes Career Best 11th Place at Wet World Cup

Neko Mulally (USA) and George Brannigan (NZL) held down the fort for Trek World Racing this weekend at Round 5 of the UCI Mountain Bike World Cup here in Hafjell, Norway, with great performances both in the qualifiers yesterday and the finals today. George had his best qualifying result of the year with a 7th, and Neko Mulally finished today’s rainy final in 11th place, besting his result of 14th in Pietermaritzburg back at Round 1 in 2012.

Episode 0.4 of STORIES, by Trek World Racing, Released Today

This Episode of STORIES by Trek World Racing features Justin Leov at the 6th round of the Enduro World Series, as well as the Downhill riders in South Africa for the World Championships. Justin has his best race of the season with several top places in the various stages around Val d’Isere, France, proving he can be a real threat in this discipline. In Pietermaritzburg Greg Williamson was super unlucky to break a collarbone in training, while George and Neko went on to take impressive career best top 15 placings.

Two Top 15 Results at World Champs, as Brook McDonald Retires from Season 2013

21 year old George Brannigan had his best ever result at a World Championship today here in Pietermaritzburg when he took 13th place, just one spot ahead of team mate Neko Mulally. The two riders looked solid all week and were happy with their performances on the demanding South African track. Meanwhile Brook MacDonald, who had earlier this week decided to end his season after this event so he can return home for important shoulder surgery, was unlucky to clip a tree and lose time, settling for 24th place.

Freak Rain Shower Dampens Results At Round 4 of World Cup

For Brook MacDonald and Neko Mulally it was tough to swallow the bad luck that befell them and three other riders as a freak 8 minute rain shower caused havoc for the riders that started around 3.40pm. The venue had seen sunny periods most of the afternoon but at around 3.35pm the heavens opened up briefly and seemed to follow Brook all the way down the mountain. Neko started 3 minutes after Brook and had the worst of conditions.

Neko Mulally Takes Personal Record Points Haul At World Cup Round 3

The third round of the UCI Downhill Mountain Bike World Cup took place in Vallnord, Andorra in front of loud and enthusiastic crowd estimated at around 15,000. Sitting in 3rd place overall coming into this round, Brook MacDonald (NZL) had a difficult week battling a serious shoulder injury that hed incurred a week ago in XC training back home in New Zealand, and only managed 6 complete runs of the course. His team mate Neko Mulally however scored his first ever top 10 in qualifying and backed it up with a solid 16th in the final. This gave the young American 80 points and pushed him up to 15th in the overall standings.

Neko Mulally Takes His 2nd Pro GRT Win Of The Season

Fresh off his strongest start to a World Cup season, where Neko is currently ranked 16th in the Overall, the Trek World Racing rider went to Windham, New York, to race a round of the Pro GRT Downhill Series. After winning in a round of the Pro GRT in Plattekill in late May, Neko was aiming to use this race more as training during his World Cup summer break, but was happy to take a nice win of more than 7 secs over US rider Logan Bingelli.

Things Are Heating Up At Trek World Racing

The TWR HotBox as pictured is essentially a bike warmer for use at the top of the mountain prior to race start.

Brook MacDonald 'Robbed' Of World Cup Podium, Neko On Target

The hot dusty conditions on the super steep track in Val Di Sole saw Brook MacDonald on target for a 4th place result until a crash in the last sector of his run saw those hopes slip away. Meanwhile Neko Mulally who doesn't see this track as one of his strengths, was very pleased to take his 2nd best career result and be on target for the second half of the season.

Team Scores Podium and Top 10 At World Cup Opener in Fort William

Trek World Racing opened its World Cup account in Fort William today with a 2nd place for Brook MacDonald and a 10th place for rookie pro, Greg Williamson, and solid positions for both Neko Mulally and George Brannigan. The team, now in its fifth season, has helped Trek rack up an impressive 34 World Cup podiums for the Session bike since 2009.

Brook MacDonald On The Podium At British DH Round 3

Trek World Racing took advantage of the close proximity of the 3rd round of the British Downhill Series here in Innerleithen, Scotland, to next week's all important opening round of the UCI World Cup in Fort William, to get the riders up to speed and iron out any remaining preparations. The weather was unseasonably warm and extremely sunny making the narrow, rooty and repetitive track fast, and hard to learn.

Brook and Neko Make It Trek World Racing 1-2 at Pro GRT

Team mates Brook MacDonald and Neko Mulally made it a 1-2 on the podium for the 4th round of the Pro Gravity Tour at Mountain Creek, New Jersey. After qualifying fastest the day before, Neko had to settle for the backseat on race day, but was only 0.83sec behind his World Cup winning training partner. Brook didn't qualify as strongly but put in a great run on Sunday race day.

Brook MacDonald Scores Podium in Port Angeles

All three Trek World Racing riders finished in the top 12 in a classy field that many felt made this event feel like a mini World Cup. Ironically named the Underworld Cup, the race in Port Angeles is fast becoming the best pre-World Cup season event in North America for the top riders to test their speed and equipment on a track that's lined with spectators. Rain on Saturday packed the dust down and made for ideal racing conditions.

Brook MacDonald Wins First Ever National DH Title

Trek World Racing's new signing Brook MacDonald took his Trek Session 9.9 to a first ever Elite National Title on the Rotorua course earlier today. The former Junior World Champion and World No.5 has had a busy couple of weeks both preparing for this event, racing in Hunua and filming in Queenstown for Anthill Production's new project.
